New Hollow in Town

A garganta opened wide, a mixture of darkness and sadness seeped through, before a human figure stepped through and stood on the other side while the portal closed behind her. Her because despite the loose garb that was her cloak, her figure was accented by the wind blowing it against her body. Her pale skin glows in the moonlight.. Her eyes faintly glow as well, but there was no source of light to shine off them. It was because of what Rose was now. A piece to a bigger picture.

Rose stood high above the city.. Looking over its mimicry of the night sky that hung over it, the lights dotting the ground like stars..

She looked out with hope to find something... Something she was told to find. In the words of her master. Something of interest, or something worth warning. She could not immediately see either of these. But she was far above the highest building...

The arrancar sonido'd all the way to the earth's surface. Her spiritual pressure compresses down against the earth, but only leaves few cracks in the sidewalk. She could control it no better than she used to.. And it stretches through out the city until it settled like fresh snow.

Rose stepped forward through the alleys he landed in. Her bare feet pressing against the icy cold concrete. missing rocks and the slightest shards of glass as she steps through the filth and out into the open.

Being a hollow allowed her to step through the city without being noticed by anyone who wasn't sensitive to spirits, but she didn't need it tonight. The streets were dead, cold, and silent. It was like walking through a graveyard. Which was a interesting comparison to say the least.

Her path leads her into the heart of the town, but still no one comes for her. Still she see's nothing.. Literally nothing. No one. Not a soul dead, alive, or reborn.

Evan was at her side, as he often was. Always actually. Always beside his beloved Rose. "Doesn't look like there's anyone out to play." He mentioned, looking around them as he strolled past her and towards a light. There was even a light fog coming in. Or was that the usual poison cloud that decorated Rose? "At least the air is fresh."

"Fresh air? That's your silver lining? What a weak bright side you turned out to be." This the first time Lilith has joined them since the lab incident. She appeared shortly after Rose woke up from the sedation. A sort of reset button. "I got a better one for you, it feels like freedom out here. Not stuffy like it is back at that... Whatever it is." Lilith said, from the other side of Rose. She stood in something lolita, holding an umbrella even, and stared intently at the girl that was wrapped in nothing but cloak.

Rose turned to look at Lilith. "Always the one to start an argument... Aren't you?" Rose spoke only a fourth of what she used to. Finding words less helpful than action. Not like anyone was listening to her...

But when she did speak. There was something different about her voice. Something mature, demanding, still.. Something solid, unwavering.. And yet, as if someone else was controlling the vocal cords. If only because her attitude has changed permanently. But.. People did listen to her now.

It was so powerful.. That it left Lilith speechless. At least she struggled to sprout any come back. Childish or witty. She instead just crossed her arm under her breast and turned her head sharply. "Hmph"

Evan observed quietly.. Lilith was obviously effected by this change. She doesn't accept of this new Rose, dislikes the predicament they were all in. And in true Lilith fashion, rejects everything that displeases her. But Evan was more than just knowledgeable.. He was aware. Very aware. A level of awareness that was very science might scoff at. But when you were attached to a powerful spirit that has become Rose, hardly anything was impossible..

He was very aware that Akumu could have easily wiped Rose and built her up as something different. They, him and Lilith, were extremely lucky that for whatever reason, Akumu did not erase them from existence. Possibly because he loved to torment Lilith as much as he liked to torment Keyno.

He also knew that there was a possibility to return Rose back to normal. He knew the solution was to defeat Akumu. But Rose didn't have a want for that. At least not now. He liked to think she was sleeping.. Like she hasn't woken up from a fight yet. While she slumbered, they would accompany this Rose.

This Rose, who while she was very different and foreign from their Rose. Was familiar. He noticed fairly quickly the intensity that was present only ever when Rose reached a peak in pain. Saw how the new Rose disregarded silly things like pain to gain ground in whatever the goal was. It used to only be to put down whoever caused her pain. Or killing any immediate threat. But he had never seen her in a non-combat situation.

In addition to being like a doll, or a puppet, she wasn't the type to chat. She was more like a tool. Hopelessly lost when she had no purpose. When she was in a non-combat situation, a shadow of the Rose they knew and loved. But even then she was a lot like a doll.

They slowly moved through the city. Moving like a ghost through a ghost town. In reality it was just far too late for anyone other than trouble makers and spirits to be on the move. That and people who worked the night shift.

Which is exactly who they ran into. A guy sped past them on a bike, his furious peddling creating light for the headlight on his cycle, and his flying speed creating a wind in his wake. Both of which effected the hollow. While the human didn't see her, the light ran across the cloak, her shadowed face, and lit up her faint features. The the wind whisked away her cover. The cloak went flying, revealing her armor bikini, golden blonde locks, and hazel bored gaze. It all settled back around her, except the hood which hung from her shoulders, and they were alone again.

Rose just turned back to her walk. But Lilith and Evan exchanged glances before following along.

Rose approached the local park, and strolled right in. She followed the path regardless of needing, too or not.

The arrancar happened across a few more people here. A girl on a bench with a man, making out as innocently as could be. When she pulled away abruptly, slapped him, and tried to walk away. Only for the man to try to pull her back into his arms. There was a struggle, which Rose did nothing to stop, and the man got slapped again. There was some violent words, a lot of crying, and a lot of blood. She had been pushed to a last resort, stabbing him with a knife she probably kept with her for protection. But she apparently didn't plan to use it for anything.. As she broke down after the man was dead.

A soul representation appeared near the body, he held his head in disbelief, staring at his body and the woman. He only turned because he heard the tapping of Toxico against her chitin. He saw only her, and a long pole-armed weapon. Then began to freak out! He seemed so sure of himself that she was the grim reaper, come to take his soul to hell. He ran as far away from the scene as he could.

Which was a short leash, actually. As the chain in his chest kept him from going anywhere. It close lined him, and he fell to the earth. Only to get up and start yanking on it like a mad man.

Evan knew what was going to happen before it did. The chain finally gave way, and the man got one action out - getting up on his feet - only to drop to his knees in horrible pain. He screamed like a banshie, but only lasted for a few minutes before a mask began to appear on his face.

Rose was all ready to leave it alone, uninterested in where hollows came from, but she found an internal instinct surface.. She must kill this weaker spirit. Or else he will rise and potentially kill her. So she pulled out her weapon and made quick work of the dangerous pervert.

Before the transformation could be complete, Rose had Toxico through the man's chest. It jerked and convulsed, and struggled to breath. Struggled to howl, struggled to make any sound at all, it even struggled to struggle. Then all at once, it was gone. It became like dust, and flew away. Littering the ground with its filth.

Another pair of humans they saw, were two punks in front of the playground, they punched at each other's faces until they were black and blue, and couldn't see anymore. Only to start kicking even more wildly. It was some petty brawl over a girl. Probably someone who didn't even know they loved her.

And finally.. She came across a cat. A black one with gold eyes, and a flicking white tail. It looked right up at her from its perch. Cats were something else. Knowing and seeing. Yet too lazy to do anything. They expected crowns and jewels, but didn't even want to attempt to steal them because it was far too much work.
