The Blooming Love

The Blooming Love is a cafe that served coffee, tea, sweets, fruit parfaits, and other treats. It was not your usual Cafe', as the workers were always dressed on cosplay of some kind or another. Anime, themed costumes, yearly even outfits, Violet actually liked the cafe for all of the special things she got to wear. That and she got to act. Usually it was the same act. But she changed it up a bit sometimes.

Her boss, a middle-aged man who was much taller than her, was named Daisuke. He of course had a last name, but he liked to be called by his first, has owned this place for a good 10 years now.

Today they were doing a Japanese beauty theme. The obvious Kumono princess, Models, Prima-Dona Idol, and then there was Violet. Who picked to be a Geisha again. Her face was painted pale, lips a bright red, the faintest color on her cheeks, and a star shaped mole painted under her right eye. She wore a blue and green outfit, that in various places turned teal. Her hair was wrapped up and tied with a ribbon, and she moved around very slowly carrying a fan.

This was one of those days she got to act a bit more like the real Violet. Manipulative.

This is where and how Violet learned how to dance the fan dance. And when she was not doing a tea ceremony for the guests pleasure, she was doing the dance. She had a bit of a stage all to herself.

But then again, so did everyone else who wasn't working at that exact moment. She was just more into the acting than her waitress job.

There was Chika, using the kanji for Scatter and Flower, who was playing a Priestes, She entertained the guests by praying to the gods to keep them all safe. Emi, spelt with kanjis for Blessing and Beautiful, was dressed in a really popular singer's outfit that was worn in the last music video she was in, and practiced her dance moves for the crowd, because she wasn't brave enough to sing yet. And Haru, with the kaji for Spring, was an actress. Standing still while flash effects happened around her. Telling the paparazzi to get her from her good side. Haru and Emi could also be asked to have pictures taken with by the guest.

Daisuke was in his usual attire. Not a tuxedo, but a close enough outfit. He welcomed guests when everyone was too busy, but also helped when they needed it in other areas. It was all around a good day.

It was also an uneventful day.. Violet didn't even get to mock her favorite verbal punching bags on this day, as they seemed to have decided to skip coming here today. Which was strange for people who came everyday to see her and her co-workers. But this was a disappointment, not because she liked the guys, but because she had no one to unleash the thoughts she has been thinking lately into words..

Then the door opened.

She was hoping for a new victim.. But it was just a girl. She turned back to her customer and let someone else handle her. She was in no mood to cater to some female..

Contrary to what Violet's feelings were, several other co-workers were excited about the new arrival. Specifically the idol girl. Probably because that same exact pop-idol just walked through the door. She almost wet herself with the excitement, but Violet just rolled her eyes. The whole place, however, was now enthralled by this girl. Except her and the Host. Which was understandable. Daisuke was gay, and she felt nothing towards girls. No matter how famous they were. She just pulled to the side of the room while there was a big deal about an idol visiting their shop.

Apparently she used to be a regular, once the host remembered that, he joined the conversation. But didn't seem pleased when the female customers screamed wildly at every little thing she did.

Like how she sat at a table very close to a group of fans. They went wild.

They went wild over her outfit. Her hair, her nails, her clothes.. The whole package.

They were fascinated by the way she did things. Like sip tea. Eat cookies. The way she sat on her chair, her legs crossed, her pinky out.

Violet only saw fan girls being fan girls. And excused herself. She was in the break room with half her outfit hanging off her hips. She had a sports bra under it and no one could tell it wasn't an athletic shirt. But technically they were the same. Zipped up in the front, and pressed her chest flatter. She fanned herself boredly, and wondered what she could say to get out of this place..

She hated when people got attention for no real reason.. And worse. When they got more attention than her, and they were female.

Violet sat there for a really long time, still able to hear the screaming fans make a big deal about everything their idol did. She just sat there and listened it and the cooks talk about food. She thought about eating..

She also thought she saw something in the corner of her eye. But when she looked, there was no one.

But she ended up going into the locker room, changing, writing a note to the Host, an apology but her stomach suddenly hurt, and then leaving. She used the back door so she wouldn't be seen.
